Bio
Jacob Boyd graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2002, with a degree in film production. He then spent the next five years of his life discovering what stories he wanted to write and make films about. Opportunity presented itself in spring of 2007, when Sterling Multimedia purchased an original screenplay entitled From the Ashes. Shortly thereafter, Falling Sky Entertainment (The Man From Earth, and upcoming Fantastic Voyage remake) optioned another original screenplay entitled 142. Unfortunately, the current recession hit independent film production companies the hardest and four months into pre-production, the project lost its financial backing.
Jacob elected to adapt the script into a graphic novel which also illustrated. Jenny Wright (Near Dark, Young Guns) remained in contact with Jacob during the process of adapting the book and plays herself in the text as an alternate version of her own life, offering elusive details as to why she left Hollywood.
After completing 142, Jacob finished two new screenplays; She Once Had Me and Blue in the Sand. He is currently finishing work on his second novel, Baby's in Black, an adaptation of the screenplay She Once Had Me.
